 The photo shows some pond scum in water taken from the BBB lily pad pond. This sample was taken at 6:50 pm on April 8, 2019. The sample was extracted from the pond using a falcon tube. The organism shown in the picture is most likely from the domain bacteria given the size and shape of the organism and the environment from which the sample was extracted. How many of these organisms live in the pond? An approximation could be made by calculating the number of organisms found in a small sample and scaling that from the volume of the sample to the total volume of the pond.
