In this video we can see two large masses moving next to each other that are two different organisms of the same species.
This sample was gathered at 6:20 pm from the upper level of Caltech’s turtle pond, by pipetting a small amount of water into a flask.
Size of the microorganisms:
Magnification of foldscope: 140x
Thus, these organisms appear to be around 10 micrometers by 60 micrometers.
Some questions I have about my video:
What is the name of these types of organisms?
How long is their typical lifespan?
What do they eat?
Why do they appear brown-ish in color compared to the surrounding plant life?
To answer these questions, I could look up the types of microorganisms that are typically in ponds, and classify what I found. After knowing what they’d are, it is easy to just google them and see the information that results.
