Above is a picture acquired during the observation with Foldscope in Bi 1 recitation, Caltech, 04/11/19. The sample was obtained approximately two hours (which is around 6 pm) before the actual observation, from the turtle pond. The sample was scooped out of the pond, containing mostly liquid and some solid materials.
The organism depicted in the picture above is an aggregation of algae, which belongs to domain Eukarya. The organism appears to be generally transparent green, with local solid spot of dark greens. These observations indicate the existence of cell nuclei and chloroplasts, which help us identify the organism as a member of domain Eukarya.
