When: The picture was taken on Wednesday the 10th at 7:30 pm. The sample was taken a few hours (approx. 2 hrs) earlier. The sample was taken from the Caltech turtle pond. It was extracted by scooping some of the pond water into a vial. This was then transferred to the slide with a pipette. Description: In the image, we can see a small translucent bean-shaped object. In the video, this organism moved around freely in a small area. It changes shape slightly but not drastically. In some frames of the video there seem to be irregularities within the inside of the organism. These could suggest organelles. Magnification of the Foldscope is 140x In the image I took, the organism is around 2mm across. Therefore the actual organism is around 0.014 mm across.
Image of microscope slide. The red circle indicated where the organism of question is located. #caltechbi1
