This sample that was taken on April 11th at 7:00 PM by collecting water from Baxter pond at Caltech. This specimen contains plant by-product likely from algae or some other organism next to a bubble. The sample raises questions about exactly what organism created it, what the different areas of coloration are and what the actual composition of the substance is. This can probably be better studied by taking a sample and doing spectroscopy on it, this way we can better infer the actual ingredients of the substance. We can then try to cross list to the known by-products of other plants and hopefully we can then exactly pinpoint what this is and where it comes from. #caltechbi1
