Department of Environmental Science, University of Calcutta, organised a workshop on, “Magnify your curiosity- Explore The Microcosmos with Foldscope” at Joygopalpur, West Bengal, India on 27 ^th March 2019.

Introductory phase-

The workshop started with giving a basic idea of nature to the participants. After that, a brief idea of the microscopic world was given to them and thereafter we introduced Foldscope, a gateway to this microscopic world.

Demonstration Phase-

In this session, various microscopic objects such as amoeba, paramecium, volvox, yeast, pollen grains etc, were demonstrated to the participants.

After this session students, one by one observed under foldscope and learned how to handle foldscope on their own.

Conclusion-

Participants enjoyed the foldscope and the workshop was a success.
