One day workshop on Foldscope: Uses and Assembly was conducted in Prof. Ramkrishna More College, Akurdi, Pune, on 7 January 2019, jointly by Dr P M Singh of Dera Natung Govt. College, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh and Dr Y Premabati of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gumto, Papum pare, Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with Mr Vikas Jha of National facility of Biopharmaceutical, G N Khalsa College, Mumbai, with coordination under Star College Scheme of the college.

We have conducted the workshop in two batch – one in the morning from 10-12.30 and another from 1.30 – 4.00 pm for 150 students of B Sc I and II year. After a brief introduction on Foldscope and presentation on it’s arrival in India by Dr P M Singh, students were demonstrated on assembly of Foldscope and gave all of them hands on training on uses of Foldscope. Students were all excited to see a clear view of many color crystalline compounds, organisms in water samples collect from the campus and pollen from various flowers.
Lastly, we would like to thank the principal of the college Dr M G Chaskar for his inspiration, vice principal Dr A J Khandagle, overall coordinator Dr Rashmi Morey, HOD Zoology department Dr A A Shaikh and other staff for supporting us in successful conduct of the workshop.
