This image shows pollen grains from a Hibiscus plant under a microscope. The grains are egg-shaped and have small, spike-like protrusions coming out of them.
The sample was obtained at 9:20 pm on 5/7/19 in front of Page House on Caltech at Latitude 34.1371 and Longitude -118.1234
The sample was obtained by plucking a stamen from the flower. The slide was prepared by removing the anther and placing it on the slide then covering.
Given that the flower has 5 petals and the color of the petals is yellow on the outside and red near the center, I believe that the species of this plant is
Hibiscus brackenridgei.
