This sample of pollen was taken at 1:40 pm on May 8th, 2019 from outside of Caltech CSS on Holliston Avenue. The sample was obtained by shaking off the pollen from the flower, which is pictured below, onto the slide. The image shows the pollen pieces as the dark objects in the circular lens. The species of the flower from which the pollen was collected is aloe vera flower. One question that I would have about my image is what exactly the dark objects correspond to in the pollen. One approach to answering that question would be to research more about the structure of pollen and look up images of pollen under the microscope, and then compare my image with my newfound knowledge.
