Here we can observe a small collection of pollen grains taken from a small orange flower outside of Lloyd and Ruddock House around 3:30:43 P.M. by gently brushing the flower’s anther/filament complex onto a slide provided to us during a recitation session. It appears that the rainbow – like patterns shrouding the image might be coming from the light diffraction of the pollen grains themselves, but that is merely my guess. I also hypothesize that the fact that I took this image with the aid of a phone backlight might have contributed to the rainbow light scattering. All in all, however, the pollen grains seem to be cast under some gentle, tree – like shade on a spring afternoon. It is also interesting to note how the grains are clustered, rather than “floating around” with random spaces in between them.
