Image of pollen taken using a foldscope. Sample gathered at 6:07 pm on 05/07/2019. Image of location gathered will be attached. Above we see two main clusters of individual pollen spores, with smaller groups spread about. The description of the location gathered and how I Collected my sample is below.
The pollen sample was gathered below this tree, which is located in a small parking lot known as the sync, located off of E California Blvd. Again, the sample was collected at 6:07 pm on Tuesday, May 7th. I collected the sample from the leftover pollen on the ground, as you can see in the image above, the ground is even tinted slightly yellow due to how much pollen has fallen off the tree. I just used a piece of paper to scoop some up which I would then put onto my slide.
Answering one of the given questions:
What is the plant species of the pollen?
The species of the pollen is an olive tree, specifically I believe a Coratina, a pretty old one to say, as the tree is very large.
