In the image, several individual pollen grains (yellow elongated ovals) can be observed. The sample was obtained from a flower near the east entrance of the Caltech Broad Center for the Biological Sciences at approximately 2:00 pm on May 10th, 2019. The sample was obtained by carefully rubbing one of the flower’s anthers across a glass sample slide, before covering the pollen with a glass cover slip and taping the slip down with scotch tape. #caltechbi1
The sample was obtained here from this flower. This plant species that the pollen was obtained from is Hemerocallis fulva , otherwise known as the orange day-lily. #caltechbi1
