Tropical hibiscus I took a pollen sample from the Tropical hibiscus flower outside Page House (pictured above). The pollen sample was taken at 3pm on May 10th. The sample was obtained by ripping a stamen from the the flower, and then rubbing the anther of the stamen on the piece of glass.
Tropical hibiscus pollen sample taken with foldscope This is an image of a cluster of pollen. Each little furry-looking ball is a pollen. The little spikes coming out of the balls are there to make pollen stick to surfaces/animals easier. That allows the pollen to spread further.
