The magnified pollen as seen under a Foldscope.
A sample flower was collected from a poppy plant on the Caltech campus in Pasadena on May 8th, 2019, at 6:00 PM. Pollen was collected from that flower and observed under a Foldscope. It was identified to be the California poppy ( Eschscholzia californica ). Below is an image of the plant from which the flower sample was taken.
