This is a pollen sample of a Hibiscus Flower. The pollen sample was collected outside Page House in Caltech at 7pm on Friday May 10. The pollen is yellow, and the flower is mots likely a Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. The sample was collected by lightly scraping the flower using a cotton swab. It was the placed on a slide and covered with cover slip, which was taped on the slide. We could approximately fit 5 pollen grains along the diameter of the field of view of the foldscope. Since the diameter of the field of view is roughly 1mm, we can conclude that the diameter of a pollen grain is approximately 0.2mm.
