The sample was collected on May 10, 2019 8:30 pm at a White Mountain Research Center in Bishop, California. The plant species is Taraxacum erythrospermum , more commonly known as the red-seeded dandelion. In the first image, two of these red-seeded dandelions are pictured. The pollen sample was collected by rubbing the pollen onto a glass slide. The second image below was captured using a foldscope and depicts small grains of the pollen. #caltechbi1
