The first picture shows an orange peel, in which the bumpiness and texture of its surface can be seen. The sample of the peel was collected by scraping a portion of a peel of a fallen orange in front of Dabney House, Caltech on 5/8 at 6:01 am.
The above picture shows a small leaf collected from a hedge in front of Dabney House, Caltech. The sample was collected by plucking leaves from the hedge on 5/8, 5:59 am.
The third picture is of a tip of an anther of an orange flower. The sample was collected by picking the anthers of a flower in front of Page House, Caltech on 5/8 at 6:04 am.
The petal of a white flower is shown in the above picture. The petals were plucked off a flower and were collected at the southeast corner of Gates-Thomas, just west of Hameetman Center. The sample was collected on 5/8, at 6:06 am.
The picture shows the top of a dandelion seed, with the spindle-like hairs in the foldscope image being the white tufts on the dandelion. A few seeds were picked off the dandelion shown in the picture, located on the grassy field in between Gates-Thomas and Guggenheim, on May 8 at 6:09 am.
The picture shows the inside of a skin of a wild, inedible berry. The sample was collected by picking a berry from the plant above and peeling off its skin. It was obtained in a bush in front of the main entrance of the Gates-Thomas building on May 8, 6:07 am.
