Tip of an oak leaf

On May 16th, 13:10 PM, we collected an oak leaf under the oak tree outside Dabney Hall at California Institute of Technology. We cleaned the leaf, took the tip of this fallen, brownish-yellow tree, and made it into a sample. The photo of the tip of the oak tree is shown below.

Petal of a Geranium Wilfordii flowe r

On May 16th, 13:10 PM, we grabbed a Geranium Wilfordii flower (white) from the lawn between Parson and Dabney, at Caltech. We cleaned the flower, took the pedal of this tiny white flower, and made it into a sample. The photo of the petal of the floewr is shown below.

Stamen of Jacaranda Mimosifolia

On May 16th, 13:50 PM, we collected a fallen purple flower (Jarcaranda mimosifolia) from the lawn beside Millikan pond at California Institute of Technology. We cleaned the purple flower, took its stamen, and made it into a sample. The photo of the stamen of Jacaranda mimosifolia is shown below.

Seed of Lavendula Angustifolia

On May 16th, 13:50 PM, we collected the seed of a lavender plant (Lavendula angustifolia ) from the lawn near Millikan pond at California Institute of Technology. We cleaned the seed and made it into a sample. The photo of the seed of Lavendula angustifoliais shown below.

Leg of a dead ant

On May 16th, 13:54 PM, we found an ant (whose species is Pogonomyrmex badius) in the Rose garden near Millikan pond at California Institute of Technology. In order to make a sample, we killed the ant, put it onto the slide, and taped it. The photo of the leg of the dead ant is shown below.

Head of an alive ant

On May 16th, 13:54 PM, we found an ant (whose species is Pogonomyrmex badius) in the Rose garden near Millikan pond at California Institute of Technology, and we kept the ant alive. To make a sample, we taped the alive ant onto the slide. The photo of the head of the alive ant is shown below.

Abdomen of an alive ant

On May 16th, 13:54 PM, we found an ant (whose species is Pogonomyrmex badius) in the Rose garden near Millikan pond at California Institute of Technology, and we kept the ant alive. To make a sample, we taped the alive ant onto the slide. The photo of the abdomen of the alive ant is shown below.
