I obtained this sample by taking a piece of clear packing tape, sticking it firmly to my arm, and peeling off a layer of skin cells. The sample was obtained at 6:40 pm on Monday, May 27.
I then cut a small square out of the packing tape with skin cells on it and stuck it on a glass slide. I used a flashlight as an extra light source with the foldscope.
This image shows human skin cells, most of which are probably dead since they were the outermost layer on my arm. However, the individual shapes of the cells along with colored speckles representing organelles are visible in the image.
I obtained the cells from my forearm. #caltechbi1
