The image shows a magnified view of a green blade of glass. You can see a number of horizontal lines and squares organized in a grid-like configuration. To me, this suggests that the image shows either plant cells OR general highly organized plant “tissue”

The sample (right image below) was collected at 2:22 pm on 5/27/2019 at the California Institute of Technology, outside of Ruddock House (1320 San Pasqual St, Pasadena, CA 91106). It was taken from a patch of grass near the curb (left image below). I plucked a blade of grass from the ground to obtain the sample.

The sample was then prepared by taking the entire a blade of grass and mounting it on a slide.
