This image shows two grains square grains of salt. Both grains are dark around the perimeter and lighter in the center with many very small bright spots. The outside of the grains is also jagged.
The sample was prepared by shaking salt from a salt shaker onto the slide. The salt shaker was taken at 2:08 pm on 5/28/19 from the Page house dining hall at the California Institute of Technology.
