The stamen of the Star Jasmine flower as pictured underneath the Foldscope.
Star Jasmine flower inside the inner courtyard of Avery House at Caltech. The sample was obtained at roughly 2:05 pm on Tuesday May 28, 2019 at Caltech. The stamen was obtained by peeling back the flower petals and obtaining the stamen inside. We simply placed two of them underneath the cover slip and viewed it under the Foldscope. As for the Foldscope picture, we see the varying gradient of color as the center of the stamen appears to be more clear than the edges. #caltechbi1
