Dandelion stamen and pollen underneath a Foldscope.
Dandelion in Avery Courtyard at Caltech The sample was collected around 2:10 pm in Avery courtyard at Caltech. The stamen and pollen were obtained by reaching into the center of the flower and pulling them out. Underneath the Foldscope, we see the strand-like structure of the stamen as well as the oval-shaped structure of the pollen at the stamen end. #caltechbi1
