Pollen from the purple flower underneath the Foldscope.
Picture of the six-pointed purple flower with yellow center in inner Avery courtyard at Caltech. The sample was obtained at about 2:30 pm in Avery inner courtyard at Caltech on Tuesday May 28, 2019. The pollen was obtained by taking the flower apart petal by petal until we obtained the stamen from the inside. We then tapped the stamen against the glass slide to get a smudge of pollen on it. From the Foldscope picture, we see the circular structure of each pollen. #caltechbi1
