Dandelion strands as viewed underneath the Foldscope.
Picture of dandelion seed in Avery courtyard against white wall backdrop. The sample was collected in the inner Avery courtyard at Caltech at about 2:35 pm on Tuesday May 28, 2019. To collect the sample, we plucked a few white clusters from the head of the seed and put them underneath a cover slip on the glass slide. We can see the wiry, intertwined structure of the strands of dandelion in the picture of the seed underneath the Foldscope. #caltechbi1
