The sample was collected in the inner Avery courtyard at Caltech at about 2:35 pm on Tuesday May 28, 2019. To collect the sample, we plucked a few white clusters from the head of the seed and put them underneath a cover slip on the glass slide. We can see the wiry, intertwined structure of the strands of dandelion in the picture of the seed underneath the Foldscope. #caltechbi1
