Here we can see the pollen grains under the microscope.
Location: This sample was taken from a yellow and purple lily growing at the turtle pond at the California Institute of Technology, which is in Pasadena, California.
Time: Sample was taken on the 30th May at 16:00
The sample was obtained by removing the anther from the flower. Then I used the sticker slides from the Foldscope kit. I mounted this sticker on the Foldscope slide and dabbed the anther on the sticky section with a tweezer. Then I observed the pollen under the Foldscope.
I was able to determine that this flower is a white African iris, D. iridioides

This is a photo of the flower from which the pollen was obtained. It was growing at the turtle pond at Caltech.
