I have now looked at many sections of the flower. This time I will look in more detail at the style.
Description: Here is the magnified style of a purple flower. I was not expecting the surface of the style to be as textured as it is. We can see many little indents on the surface at the scale of individual cells.
Location: Next to Milikan library on the Caltech campus in Pasadena California.
Time: May 30th, 2019 at 16:15
How my sample was obtained: using a pair of tweezers I removed the carpel of the flower and then I placed it on the sticky slide. The flower had been picked a few minutes prior to this.
Here is a picture of the plant from which I took the carpel.
