This image depicts the edge of the pink flower’s petal. The pinkish area is the main region of the petal. It is close to opaque, and so quickly fades to black. The edge also has a white covering as can be seen on top of the pink area. #caltechbi1
The sample was taken from these pink flowers at approximately 3:30 pm on May 30, 2019 near the southwest entrance of the Caltech Annenberg Center for Information Science and Technology. A flower bud was carefully removed, and a section of the petal was cut and placed onto a clean sample slide. #caltechbi1
