This is a picture of the plant that I took the sample from. The bush was found opposite of CSS at Caltech. The picture and the sample were taken at 5:30pm on May 30th. I obtained the sample by rubbing the middle part of the flower onto the slide. A small part of the flower petal ended up sticking to the slide.
The foldscope picture of the sample. It shows a piece of the flower petal and the pollen from the flower. Even individual cells of the petal are visible. Pollen is composed of pretty large grains (when compared with other flowers). The pollen grain has a line down the middle, dividing the grain into two parts. #caltechbi1
