This is a picture of Bougainvillea spectabilis. The plant was found near Olive walk at Caltech. The sample was obtained at 4:15pm. I rubbed the endpoint of the long style onto the slide to get the sample.
This is a close-up of the sample under foldscope. The pollen is composed of grains that are slightly elongated along one axis. This pollen is shaped differently from other pictures I have taken, since it is quite far from circular. #caltechbi1
