Image 1. The style sample with a bright background.
The style sample was obtained from an oriental hybrid lilium candium at 9:55 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California. The flower was from an unknown origin, as it was obtained on Thursday, May 16 at a formal dinner event in Blacker hovse at Caltech.
Image 2. The style sample with a less bright background.
Both images reveal the general structure of the exterior of the style. It has many small fiber-like sections across the thin horizontal section of the style and is made up of long fibers in its vertical direction. The sample is quite translucent, reflecting a little bit of light as it passes through the sample. #caltechbi1
