DBT Foldscope scheme – “Foldscope for diagnosis of rumen acidosis and parasitic infection in cattle”
Rumen fluid was collected from a healthy cow. Smear was prepared with one drop of rumen fluid, stained with methyl green and visualized under foldscope. Protozoa under the genus Diplodinium was identified. Morphology of Diplodinium is large rounded body, thick spherical macronucleus, micronucleus and thick blunt ventral lobe. Diplodinium mostly ingest ruminal diplococci.
