Protozoa under the genus Ophryoscolex
Ophryoscolex purkynjie protozoa present in the rumen fluid of cattle was identified by methyl green staining using foldscope.
Ophryoscolex purkynje body is characterized by the long caudal spinatin. Rumen fluid was collected from a healthy cow. Smear was prepared with one drop of rumen fluid, stained with methyl green and visualized under foldscope. It is found in the rumen of cattle.
