Department of Environmental Science, University of Calcutta, and School of Environmental Studies, Jadavpur University, jointly in collaboration with Howrah Vigyan Chetna Samannaya, organized a one day Workshop at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Cossipore, Dumdum, West Bengal, India on 27 th July 2019.

Principal, Krishna Kumar Dubey’s introductory speech at the workshop Introductory Session-
A brief presentation on “Power of Ten” was given by Mr. Pradip Das, to give a basic idea about the macroscopic and microscopic world. After this, a basic speech on different types of microscopes was given by Dr. Punarbasu Chaudhuri.

In this session, a brief idea about the origami microscope and its applications were demonstrated by the Foldscope team, Department of Environmental Science, University of Calcutta and School of Environmental Studies, Jadavpur University.

All the participants got exposure to foldscope for the first time of their lives.
It was their first exposure to foldscope and the workshop was a success.
