So after a break from exams, I finally got to spend time with foldscope and write on the observations. This time with a respite from the colour white, a different colored light source! These pollen have not been stained with any dye, but light.
Pollens observed under white light, 140x magnification
Same pollens observed under a red light source Play of angular illumination gave dark field, but the pollens indeed retained the red colour!
The white dots in this one are structural features on pollen surface (that of spines)
Pollens observed in darkfield and a green light source
The flower from which pollen were obtained. It apparently was from a plant that was an uninvited guest on my plant pots at home. Thank you for reading the post.
