Hello everyone . A long gap after my last post , but the algai sample still keeps me one place observing the diversity it is supporting from ciliates to rotifers and much more. here is a macro photo of the wall from which i got the sample
Following in the post are a few more videos of differnt types of rotifers from this sample All videos are shot using a 140x lens and maximum digital zoom of my cell phone. Following two videos have probably Bdelloid rotifers we can see the external morphology and a few internal details.
in this video we can see that the rotifer has eaten some algae.(dont know what those circular things are)
Next set of videos have a probable monogonont rotifer and the first one i dont know exactly what it might be . (Infact i dont know if any of my classifications is correct but i have tried based on what i could find …looking forward for corrections of my mistakes) . These like to move freely i.e without attaching themselves to anything , unlike many other rotifers, so difficult to shoot as they are quicker but finally found one that was somehow not moving that fast
This one i hardly managed to recognize as a rotifer . we can see its gut and many internal details and also the moving apparatus near its mouth part is clear enough . (Looking at it i initially thought that this might be the reason why its called a ROTIFERA..)
the beating thing is that the wheel organ?? The next video has all these three types of rotifers in the same field.
And finally a few photos i thought were worth a click. .
This is all for today … ENJOY FOLDSCOPING.
