 I conducted this project as part of Professor Pringle’s EEB321 class at Princeton University, I took a close look at the moss I found on my porch. It looks like a stem which made me wonder about how we define things like stems and roots because I have heard that moss does not have a true stem. How did stems evolve over time? At what point do they stop just looking like stems and start actually being stems?
