I conducted this project as part of Professor Pringle’s EEB321 class at Princeton University. Today is a rainy day in Princeton and with the seasons changing, I thought it would be interesting to study a leaf in my backyard. We have a hammock and little glass table under a large, shade tree back there and they both love to collect trees. The trees on the table were more profound because they were of many colors (green, red, and yellow) and also had many holes in them like they were dying or had been fed on by an insect. I was curious to see how these holes and their changing morphology would show up under the microscope. I had trouble getting a clear picture but I still found the different cell sizes to be noteworthy.
