Hello again,
I’m attaching a video and some pictures my class took on their first meeting with a microscope (of any kind). Bear in mind these kids are around 18 years old and have never had the experience of seeing through a microscope before. The first two pictures show their impressions. I did not try to follow a mothodology to observe things, I just let them explore on their own. As a result, it turns out that Foldscope now requires a teacher that knows eeeeeeeverything, even though I’m not even aware of which sample they’re looking at 😛
I’ve discovered their curiosity when I saw them not only cutting lemon peels, or insect wings, or ants, or leaves, or dirt, or flower petals, but their own fingers to get to see blood. Some even got “creative” when the razor blades were “used” and decided to staple their own fingers to get a blood sample. I think these will be good scientists 😉
Thank you on behalf of the class. They were very impressed!
