I’ve been growing a plant with it’s water supply in a cup sitting by the plant holder. I replace the water about once a week, and at the seven day mark a clearly more viscous grime layer surfaces. I sampled the water from the top layer and examined it under the foldscope. There were a surprising amount of bubbles surfacing. Not as many microbes as I was expecting.
