This is an image of a a small piece of a leaf that I obtained off a bush outside the STLC a few weeks back and prepared onto a slide in class. The piece was ripped off, and put onto a glass slide with a drop of water put with a pipette. Then the cover slip was taped on top to secure it from moving around. Though the alignment and focus of the foldscope were difficult to adjust when taking the photo, we can still see the rectangular shaped cells and veins of the leaf. It’s interesting to note that though weeks had passed, the image did not seem noticeably different from that seen when it was prepared right away.
