This is a photo of a colony of some unknown microbe. The sample shown in this photo was obtained from a culture of microbes found on my right hand. The culture was performed by swabbing my hand for ten seconds with a cotton swab that was then swabbed on an agar plate. The plate was then incubated for five days. The sample shown in the photo was obtained from one of the largest colonies on the plate.
On the first slide I prepared, I didn’t add any water to the sample, but it proved remarkably difficult to see. After preparing a second slide with water, I was able to get the photo above.
