What we see here is the edge of a leaf from a peppermint plant that I am growing in my room. We can see trichomes sprouting from the edges and we can also see what looks like individual cells. Notice how the cells get smaller as we move closer to the edge. Indeed, this leaf is still growing (or was, before it was snipped off by a pair of scissors). Exploring the microcosmos with the foldscope is so fun!
