Manu Prakash and his lab members gave an amazing demonstration of Foldscope at the California Academy of Sciences last week. At this event, Manu trapped a water beetle from a sample of water taken from a nearby pond (Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA, USA). In the video, which is narrated by Manu, you can see the body of the beetle, the “hairs” of the leg, and even individual lenses of the 4 eyes.
