Have you ever wondered why fly’s can change direction so quickly and fly around for long periods of time without getting tired?I decided to break out my foldscope for the first time to answer this pressing question. To find the fly, I left the back door of my house open until I got one. I then got the fly into the room and carefully slapped it so as not to smash it. After this I put it on a foldscope slide and looked at the wing. What surprised me was how thick and sturdy the veins and ligaments of the wing looked! I never imagined that this frail part of the fly could hold so much strength and detail.
