This is a capture of a leaf of a rose from a market around campus. The site is particularly interesting in the fact that it is clear in its components of what seem to be chloroplasts individual but plenty on the leaf. I wonder how the size and number compares between other leaves of the rose or potentially even against other flowers or plants or even bushes. This experiment would be interesting and somewhat simple by just analyzing these structures but I would need more work in correctly identifying the source of these circular figures above. The journey to getting a good photo of this leaf was actually pretty interesting because I had tried several times using a dry slide but it wasn’t clear enough yet by using a wet slide and slightly expanding the leaf from corner to corner this picture was able to manifest. It was a great experience of coming to a good conclusion or at least somewhat satisfying foldscope outcome.
