The house sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a species of birds that can be easily recognized because it lives very close to human habitat. It prefers life close to human settlements, including both urban and rural areas. But this bird is decreasing rapidly due to anthropogenic pressure.
Today we have studied the feather types of different common birds available in our campus. Different parts of the body of birds have different feather structures like wing feather, down feather, tail feather, contour feather, semiplume, bristle and filoplume. It makes me surprised to see the architecture of down feathers of House sparrow. It was really a delightful day with the students.
