I Sakshi Sangwikar along with my fellow student Gayatri Tulapulkar at CMR National PU College at ITPL, Bangalore observed salt under a foldscope on 8 th June, 2018.
Salt is a white transparent crystalline compound. It is found in the rocks of mines. It is seldom used in our everyday life. Salt gives taste to our food. It helps in digestion. It purifies our blood and is useful to our health in many ways. Salt is used in the preparation of medicines. It is also used in the preservation of food.
But who knew that those small crystals look so beautiful and exquisite under a foldscope. The experience that we had of assembling the foldscope, making the slides and observing everyday things, that are often neglected was wonderful.
