Hi ,
A workshop on foldscope assembly and its usage is organized among PG students of the Department of Herbal Science and Technology, ADP College, Nagaon, Assam on 26 th June 2018. The students assembled the foldscope and observed the following to magnify their curiosity.

Students assembling the Foldscope Few students collected the flower of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis from the garden. They separated the pollen grains and observed under the foldscope. The pollen grains were spherical and orange color. Pollen grains were intact with exine having long and pointed spines.

Some of the students collected the leafs of Hibiscus acetosella infected by Mealybug pest. They detached the white spots and viewed under the foldscope. The transverse section of the stem stained in safranin was also observed.

Hibiscus acetosella stem TS The leafs of Hydrilla collected from the pond were also viewed under the foldscope. It was amazing to observe the clear view of the cells.
