Bovicola bovis (also called Damalinia bovis ) is a cattle-biting louse found all over the world with heaviest infestations in winter and early spring and less in the summer season due to the shedding of the host coat and excessive ambient temperatures. These lice are unable to live apart from their host and are transmitted from one host to another by direct contact. The images show the anterior and posterior parts of the lice as observed through foldscope.
